This course is designed to equip higher education professionals with the skills and strategies needed to effectively develop student character through intellectual virtues, ethical modeling, teaching practices, and opportunities for students to practice character, such as service learning. Participants will explore practical methods to foster character development by focusing on how virtues are caught through observation, taught through intentional practices, and sought through opportunities for practice in real-world scenarios. The course offers a holistic approach to character education, focusing on key areas such as intellectual virtues, mentoring, modeling ethical behavior, and integrating service learning as opportunities to practice into the curriculum.
