This professional development session highlights explicit (direct) instruction as a core approach for strengthening literacy outcomes, especially for students who struggle to read. The facilitator will define explicit instruction and share practical ways to use modeling, common language, and consistent routines across classrooms and grade levels. The session also examines gradual release of responsibility (I do, We do, You do), frequent opportunities to build automaticity, and the value of spaced practice through spiral review.
